New Collections from Utah State University

We are excited to announce the addition of fifteen new collections from Utah State University – Merrill-Cazier Library. Here are some of the highlights!

Cache Valley Refugee Oral History Project
This collection contains recordings and materials produced during the Library of Congress Field School “Voices: Refugees in Cache Valley,” hosted by Utah State University’s Fife Folklore Archives. The project documented the recent refugee Burmese Muslim, Karen, and Eritrean communities of Cache Valley.

Agricultural College of Utah Cyanotype Collection
The Agricultural College of Utah Cyanotypes Collection is made up of more than 2,000 cyanotypes (a paper based, bluish colored print) dating from 1896 to 1916. These images document the Agricultural College of Utah (now Utah State University) and show students, faculty, class-room scenes, buildings and grounds, events, experiment stations, athletics, student projects, agriculture, and scenes from around Logan.

Election Reflections Social Media Project
The U.S. Presidential Election Reflections collection launched on 20 January 2017, just in time for the United States presidential inauguration. This social media collecting project boasts 233 reflections about the 2016 presidential election results. The collection project began the day after the election and ran for one month. The respondents are from 27 U.S. states and four foreign countries.

Harry Reuben Reynolds Photograph Collection
The Harry Reuben Reynolds Photograph Collection consists of black and white and color negatives, transparencies, and prints. Most of these images document Utah State University campus buildings and activities from the 1930s through the late 1960s (many of which were published in the Buzzer yearbooks). Also included are examples of Reynolds’s pioneering use of photographic documentation for scientific and agricultural studies as well as images of Cache Valley; Southern Utah; Bear Lake; Mesa, Arizona; Santa Barbara, California; Park City, Utah; and Salt Lake City, Utah.
